Web Marketing Review Guide

The Internet Marketing Programs I Use

by Jeff on Dec.30, 2007, under Internet Marketing

In my quest to earn money online using Internet Marketing I have purchased many programs, guru newsletters and subscribed to countless e-mail lists as many of you have I’m sure. If you are experienced in this arena hopefully this will give you some new insight, for those of you that have just started out trying to make money from a home internet business, hopefully this will help you to avoid the many pitfalls out there. I want to share with you what has worked for me. Be forewarned I am not a Guru, I don’t want to be one and the stuff I do does not rise to the Guru level. I have just acquired some skill in this area and want to share it.

Plan your work - Work Your plan

When you are just starting out it can be difficult to focus on your online marketing objectives with all of the various techniques and tools available to you. So the first thing that you need to do is come up with a business plan. Most if not all successful internet marketers have this as the foundation of their business. Once you have your plan in place you need to get the proper tools to execute it. It is best to keep in mind that these are only tools and must be approached as such. Keep in mind that there is no easy button as many would like you to believe. This is a business and if you are not willing to treat it as such you will become discouraged quite rapidly. A good resource for this is The Master Plan by Charles Heflin

The Biggest and The Baddest

The flagship tool in my arsenal is Portal Feeder. This is not only a software product (Content Management System), but, I would not be too far off by calling it a complete internet marketing solution. Within Portal Feeder a member has access to (IMHO) the best from the ground up training programs around. The training moves you from basic decisions like making choices between using a pay per click program or search engine marketing or a combination to generate traffic, then moving you step by step thru  internet marketing strategy process using search engine optimization (SEO).

Another huge advantage to a Portal Feeder membership is the access to a unique brain trust in the forum. Most any question on web marketing you may have has an answer somewhere in here. This alone is probably worth the membership costs. I could go on and on but why not get in line to try it for yourself.

Right now you will not be able to buy a membership unless it is during a period that the doors have been opened up. You can be notified when the next opportunity will arise by adding your name to the notification list so click here to sign up. They wont spam you but will keep you informed about the next time new members will be accepted which normally occurs every 4 or 5 months. There are also some nice freebie software programs that you can pick up like Orwell Content Software, CommentKahuna and Adsense Finder. These are just a small taste of what is on the inside and will give you a feel for the quality of the software available to members.

Market Intelligence

The second big tool in my box is Themezoom. What is this you say? Well think of it as market research tool as opposed to a keyword research tool. Finding good keywords and getting keyword density right is a good start  but definitely not the whole picture. Themezoom allows you to take your internet marketing strategy to the next level by introducing latent semantic indexing and long tail keywords into your website theme’s target market. This tool is not for everybody and don’t think you need to have it. It is relatively expensive and if you are just starting out you may want to try the lite version which is less expensive. At the time of this writing the doors on this program are still open but will be shut soon. So if this is something that fits into your plan don’t wait.

A perfectly suitable alternative is a subscription to Wordtracker which does a good job of identifying keywords for your niche.

Why you need Quality Unique Content

The next area in internet marketing I have tools for is content. As everyone has probably heard the mantra is "Content is King" well my addendum to that is "Unique Content is the Supreme Leader of the Universe". I use private label rights content from a couple of sources but I do not post it verbatim. Changing the content can move you away from the pack. I also subscribe to PLR programs like PLRPro which have a very limited amount of co-members that limits the number of copies out in the wild.

Another content tool I use is Content Composer. This little gem can help you to create multiple unique articles from one article. It cuts down massively the amount of time needed to get unique content without the expense of hiring writers. Jason Potash the founder of Content Composer has produced a must read PDF article on content and the internet and I highly recommend you download it. It is free and you do not need to opt in or anything.

I recently started using a new tool called WP Spinner. This does on the fly spinning on your blog so each time someone goes to a page it serves up different versions of the page. It’s pretty slick. It has a multitude of uses which I have only started to get into.

Promotion, Promotion, Promotion

This has taken over for the Location, Location, Location adage in the brick and mortar world. Just building a website does not mean you are done. How does anyone find your site among the billions of pages out there. I feel that 80% or more of your time needs to be spent on internet marketing promotion. As a member of Portal Feeder I have access to a huge number of proprietary tools not found anywhere else plus top notch training at my fingertips to get the targeted traffic I need to make my site visible on the web. I cannot stress this enough — if you are serious about having a successful online business— GET Portal Feeder at your earliest opportunity!!!

OK enough of the pressure;-) What are some of the ways you can promote your site? Probably the biggest long term bang for your buck is to write articles for article directories. Why do you want to do this? The gold standard for this is a program called Article Announcer. It consolidates all the facets of getting your articles published in the directories plus there is a treasure trove of information to glean from the CD’s that are included in the package.

Well written articles can bring an ever increasing number of links. You need to know how to get your articles out to content hungry webmasters and Article Announcer is the ticket.

Another tactic you can use for link building is posting comments to blogs. Most will give you a link back immediately once it is posted and it is a great way to get quick links from sites with good PR. The question in your mind now is how do I find blogs in my theme with good PR? Here is a free tool to do just that for you CommentKahuna does just that. In a matter of minutes you can have a list of blogs that accept comments along with their PR and best yet they are found with the keywords you enter. I think every internet marketer needs this tool in their toolbox.

Another Program I use is Zeus. Many people have maligned it, probably because it does it has a steep learning curve and can be a bit cumbersome but I have had good success with it.

Hosting

OK where to host your site? There are many companies out there and I have used a few, but my favorite bar none is Site5. The reason I like them is that they have come up with a slick interface that makes it easy for even a internet marketing novice just getting into the business to keep up with all the technical details behind running a website. They are also very inexpensive and provide top notch support.

If you are very new and need some hand holding I also suggest you check out SiteSell. Ken Evoy has created a very powerful step by step process to get a site up and running. For about $300 per year he gives you the whole enchilada. It is where I cut my teeth in internet marketing.

Publishing software

Portal Feeder above all of course (No Pressure;-))

Another program which is great for building quick websites with hundreds or thousands of pages is XSitePro. You can, in a matter of an hour or two, create a superb website and have it published to your server.

Blogs

WordPress is the premier program in this arena at present. It is relatively simple to set up and get running but for newbies can be confusing. I use an excellent program by the name of Semiologic to do a lot of the dirty work in setting up WP Blogs. There is a free version but I recommend the paid edition as it has many more features that will speed up the process.

Well there you have it I hope this has been some help. Please e-mail me if you have any questions
